Howdy! We are TAMU Lunabotics, a student team run by TAMU SEDS in collaboration with Aggies Create, competing in NASA Lunabotics. Lunabotics is an annual competition for teams to design, build, and test a lunar construction robot using NASA's systems engineering process; it culminates with an on-site challenge held at Kennedy Space Center in May, where teams compete for over $15k in prizes.
This is our first year participating, but we have already been accepted into this year's competition as one of 23 teams to receive a perfect score on our Project Management Plan (out of 68 applicants). We are currently working to execute our project plan, and will be posting updates on our progress through the SEDS social media!
We are composed of 4 subteams, each with a subteam lead, plus 2 overall leads.
Mechanical - Focuses on mechanical design, structural analysis, and manufacturing
Electrical - Handles power systems, circuit design, wiring, and electronic components
Software - Develops control algorithms, autonomy capabilities, and integrates software with hardware
Business - Manages funding, budgeting, public relations, and outreach activities

If you are interested in supporting TAMU Lunabotics, we would love to hear from you! As a first year team, we do not have any existing funding sources, and will need all the help we can get in order to successfully execute our project. Simply reach out to tamu.seds.cstat@gmail.com and we would be happy to discuss further!
Applications are not currently open for TAMU Lunabotics. Please follow us to be in the loop when they do!

We are holding weekly meetings for:
Full Team (2 hours)
Each Subteam (1-2 hours)
Systems Engineering Group (1-2 hours) - Only for Project Manager, Chief Engineer, and Subteam Leads
Taking into account work to be done outside of meetings, we estimate an average weekly time commitment of 5-10 hours. However, this is a flexible number and can be adjusted according to individual / team needs. And of course, as they say, you get out of it what you put into it!
